Description

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Works in support of the Credentialing Manager. Responsible for certain aspects of credentialing, recredentialing and privileging processes for medical providers who provide patient care on behalf of Indiana Internal Medicine Consultants outpatient and inpatient practice, and performs other duties as directed by the credentialing manager.

  1. Compiles and maintains current and accurate data for all medical providers.
  2. Completes provider credentialing and recredentialing applications; monitors applications and follows-up as needed.
  3. Maintains copies of current state licenses, DEA and CSR certificates, malpractice coverage and any other required credentialing documents for all providers.
  4. Coordinates the ordering of appropriate supplies for providers. (lab coats, pagers, business cards, etc.) Orders other supplies for the office as needed.
  5. Sets up and maintains provider information in online credentialing databases and systems.
  6. Tracks professional liability expirations for appointed IIMC providers.
  7. Tracks license and certification expirations for all medical providers to ensure timely renewals.
  8. Processes applications for appointment and reappointment of privileges to Franciscan St. Francis Hospital, Community Hospital South, and for all other facilities where IIMC medical staff provide patient care.
  9. Maintains confidentiality of provider information.
  10. Provides credentialing and privileging verifications.
  11. Follows the policies and procedures of the credentialing department.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required.
  2. Associate degree preferred.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Knowledge and understanding of credentialing process.
  2. Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Excellent attention to detail.
  5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, staff and contacts outside the organization.
