Description

VSolvit is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to be responsible for working with a government team in a classified environment to fully administer the source code tools, developer access and source code.You will engage as liaison with our client on status and impacts of change management and requests.

The project is a large software development effort for a high visibility government program. You will be invaluable and able to make a difference in the quality of our processes and software deliverables.  

You will be based in beautiful coastal SOCAL between Malibu and Santa Barbara

You will work in a laboratory environment at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division,within the Electronic Warfare Department at Point Mugu, CA

You will have the opportunity to support technical teams with defining, documenting, baselining, and changing configuration items. You will manage the baseline configuration for source code and related documents as well as manage and track changes to baselines.  You will engage as liaison with our client on status and impacts of change management and requests. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized change, modification, or disclosure. You will also schedule and perform independent audits - comparing audit results to actual IT infrastructure. You will lead the team to develop and improve CM process, working methods, and tools.

Your responsibilities include branching and merging methodology to support multiple, concurrent teams working on independent delivery tempos.

This will include working closely with multiple teams to support multiple build streams.

You will need to support multiple simultaneous work streams with source code and access control. You will be expected to be provide labeling, i.e., labeled builds, that the Build Manager can directly reference.

You will be responsible bundling the exact source for a specific build.

Other duties include providing CM audits.

Primary duties include: ?

Help develop and support tools to improve the efficiency of source code management, configuration and control for the software development and related build processes

Manage all access to the source code repository

Provide source code branching and merging policies to support a multi-work stream environment

Document policies and processes to be used by the team

Define source code backup and off-site retention

Perform configuration audits ? Identify source code anomalies and implement solutions

Provide SCM support in branch management, merge conflict resolution

Assist with providing technical deployment documentation

Other duties may include

Defining, planning, executing, and closing a configuration build or baseline:

Following & ensuring all Security policies and procedures are followed

Following & ensuring all Airborne Electronic Attack Integrated Product Team policies and procedures are followed

Software Build Schedule and Software Change Requests, /Review Deficiency Reports (RDRs), and Test Deficiency Reports (TDRs) and Baseline Update Requests (BURs)

Develop and deliver Configuration Management Plan (CMP)

Develop and deliver Configuration Management Procedures (CMPR)

Develop and deliver Product Release Requests (PRRs)

Develop and deliver Requirements related Change Requirements (CRs), Review Deficiency, Reports (RDRs), and Test Deficiency Reports (TDRs)

Develop and deliver Configuration Version Document (CVD)

Develop and deliver Configuration Audit Reports (CAR)

Help develop and support tools to improve the efficiency of source code management, configuration and control for the software development and related build processes

Manage all access to the source code repository

Basic Qualifications and Requirements:

High School Diploma OR G.E.D.?

United States Citizenship required

Active DoD SECRET Security Clearance 

7 years as a S/W developer.

4+ years engaging in projects life cycle work using configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.

2+ years configurations management, quality or

2+ defining, planning, executing, and closing configuration builds or 2+ years’ demonstrated ability to identify, control, audit and do status accounting

 Scaled AGILE Framework, AGILE Methodologies, AGILE Certifications

Preferred Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology (or related area) and

5 years of Software CM. 7+ years of experience may substitute for degree

Active DoD TOP SECRET Security Clearance 

5+ years’ experience supporting US Navy Software Support Activity

 

 

 
Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ as a Configuration Management Specialist or Engineer.
  • 7+ years’ experience implementing software configuration controls
  • 7+ years’ Microsoft Office
  • 5+ years’ experience working on DoD projects and programs
  • High School Diploma and 10+ years working experience 

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years’ as a Configuration Management Specialist or Engineer.
  • 10+ years’ experience implementing software configuration controls
  • Knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to meet established timelines
  • Ability to function independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to present technical ideas and technical information concisely, both verbally and in writing or through presentations as needed
  • Experience writing technical documents
  • Experience supporting and working with high functioning technical teams
  • Work experience in support of development for Navy systems or software is a plus

U.S. Citizenship required

Active Secret Security Clearance OR ability to reactivate one held within the past 24 months
