As a Academic Inpatient Facility Medical Coder, you will perform inpatient facility coding for one of our prestigious clients from the comfort of your home.  Job Summary The Academic Inpatient Facility Medical Coder reviews documentation to determine the principal and secondary ICD-10 diagnoses codes, as well as the principal and secondary ICD-10 procedure codes for all visits. Additionally, the Academic Inpatient Facility Medical Coder applies all departmental coding quality guidelines and meet productivity standards, while maintaining a 95% or better overall accuracy rate. Our ideal candidate will maintain up-to-date working knowledge of coding guidelines, independent decision-making, and effective communication skills are vital for success. Academic Inpatient Facility Medical Coder Essential Functions Review documentation for coding appropriateness and accuracy in accordance with coding guidelines. Utilize an electronic medical record (Epic) and encoder software to perform the functions of the role. Comply with eCatalyst Healthcare’s coding practices to meet corporate compliance guidelines. Academic Medical Center experience. Weekend availability (Saturdays). Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams. Educated in HIPAA regulations; must maintain strict confidentiality of patient and client information. Keen attention to detail to maintain 95% corporate quality standards. Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner. Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
