POSITION SUMMARY

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for overall Casino operation

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Has the ability to perform all functions of supervised positions.
  2. Plans, organizes and directs the overall activities of the Casino including budgeting and financial planning, accounting, recording of financial results, disbursements and collections, purchasing and supply management of materials and equipment, supervision of Casino personnel, and development of personnel Policies and Procedures.
  3. Develops management control systems as necessary to operate the Casino as directed by Leech Lake Gaming Commission.
  4. Formulates short and long range goals for the Casino to increase profitability, oversees the promotions, advertising and marketing plans to evaluate the results.
  5. Develops long range planning and reviews departmental budgets and plans, reviews gaming reports and financial statements
  6. Assures compliance with State Gaming compact and National Indian Gaming Commission regulations.
  7. Assumes authority to implement all Internal Controls
  8. Implements policies, procedures, controls and directives to correct deficiencies for the attainment of company’s objectives and goals while safeguarding all assets relative to the gaming operation.
  9. Prepares periodic reports to/for management as necessary or requested.
  10. Acts as the principal spokesperson for the Casino.
  11. Monitors the purchasing and supply management of materials and equipment, ensuring accountability of company assets.
  12. Informs Gaming Director of significant problems jeopardizing the achievement of objectives on line management level.
  13. Supervises Casino Management and department supervisors.
  14. Assures positive employee relations and maximum customer service satisfaction to our customers.
  15. Attends area community chamber meetings to promote the business.
  16. Assures drug testing policies and procedures are followed.
  17. Maintains Weekly payroll, financial reports, employment activity records and other requested reports for management.
  18. Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
  19. Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
  20. Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  21. Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
  22. Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  23. Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  24. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 
Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Knowledge of Casino Policies & Procedures and Internal Controls
  2. Knowledge of interpersonal communications, public communications, organizational communications and customer relations.
  3. An understanding of the mentor system to motivate and manage people
  4. Demonstrated leadership abilities and emulation of professionalism
  5. Extensive experience in planning, development and organization
  6. Available to travel; in-state and out of state

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Physically capable of sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time.
  2. Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment.


EDUCATION AND SKILLS

Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or university).

Experience: Four or more years related experience.

A combination of education and experience may be considered as a substitute for degree requirement.

Computer Skills: Must have strong computer skills

Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
