POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Manager is primarily responsible for leading and driving manufacturing assembly operations, with an emphasis on leading Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Lean principles. This position is accountable for new product and process introductions as well as team activities aligned to scrap reduction, cycle time improvements, and fosters a problem-solving culture in production operations. Drives 'First Time Quality' and 'On Time Delivery' culture. Plan, lead, direct, and execute production activities from in-bound materials planning through production to ensure timely completion of manufacturing deliverables - meeting safety, quality, and cost requirements of the site.

Core Function and Associated Duties:

Manages mechanical assembly operations, ensures safe, efficient, and effective use of resources. Coordinates with Management and Leadership team in the standardization of processes and driving Lean initiatives such as, workflow design, 5S, and work instructions.

Plans, assigns, and provides clear direction to staff to achieve daily / weekly / monthly productivity targets. Evaluate causes of manufacturing problems and assist in resolving such problems.

Self-motivated hands-on metrics driven leader who is capable of material planning, production scheduling, resource planning, and leading improvement projects aligned towards corporate initiatives.

Develops and drives cross training objectives. Guides, motivates, and disciplines staff in accordance with company guidelines. Administers and executes policies and procedures that affect subordinate employees and their performance.

Proactively ensures the facility is a safe workplace for all employees and visitors.

Responsible for first article build process and ensuring product samples delivered to customer on schedule.

NPI - Validate manufacturing processes and labor standards during first production run on new assemblies.

 
Position Requirements

Education and Experience

Example: Bachelor’s degree required; 6-8 years of related experience and/or training required.

  • BS Manufacturing Engineering and / or quantifiable experience equivalent in Operations.
  • 10 years progressive and relevant management and supervision experience in Operations.

Minimum 10 years. experience in manufacturing environment required.

Required Licenses

Computer Skills

Example: Skilled in Microsoft Office, knowledge of database software, order processing systems, manufacturing software, spreadsheets, quality, and word processing.

Strong knowledge in various PC applications such as: MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Project, and MRP/ERP

Language Skills

Example: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to complaints. Ability to effectively present information to top management. Write, speak, and comprehend English.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing practices encompassing electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Strong production management and supervisory experience in diverse manufacturing environment.
  • Familiar with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and electromechanical product specifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical parts / assemblies, mechanisms, wiring, connectors, etc.

Strong background in assembly processes and manufacturing flow.

Mathematical Skills

Example: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw an interpret graphs.

Analytical problem solver who can make decisions and follow through on implementation.

Reasoning Ability

Example: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.

  • Motivational and team building skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot solve problems independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills.

Clear understanding of 5S and Lean Concepts, Practices, and Deployment Strategies.

Travel :Example: Occasional travel may be required.
