Location HDT (Florence, KY)  


This position performs precision inspections on a variety of components, subassemblies and finished product using customer specifications, military specifications and industry standard specifics along with standard and special purpose measuring tools, instruments and equipment. The following duties and responsibilities will be delegated and defined by the Quality Manager or Corporate Quality Director.


  • Enforces safety rules and conducts safety inspections of area of responsibility. 
  • Knowing proper procedures for workers to follow and ensuring they comply
  • Provides feedback to supervision in relation to employees’ safety habits, productivity, and adherence to shop rules
  • Motivate self and others to accomplish assigned tasks including working independently and as part of a team
  • Train/support team members on assigned tasks and/or processes/procedures. Exhibits knowledge of departmental machinery, including operation of the machinery.
  • Assign tasks directed by the Supervisor, Sr. Lead and/or the Operations management team
  • Flexibility within assigned area to support the department
  • Recommends improvements to production methods, equipment layout, and product flow.
  • Takes action as needed in order to resolve issues so that production goals are met 
  • Ability to manage earned value (EV)/time standards on employee performance 
  • Responsible for 5S
  • Accurately reports shop floor production data via computer terminal and/or written reporting 
  • Follows visual and written work instructions in order to complete assigned tasks within set time allotted
  • Able to check parts to engineering drawings using precision measuring equipment
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to support the department
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility listed above satisfactorily. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. ASQ or equivalent Quality Inspection certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three to five years of related lead experience in a manufacturing facility.  


  • Ability to work from verbal and written instructions
  • Operation of small power tools, other hand tools, computerized and high-pressure equipment
  • Ability to operate fork lift
  • Goal oriented and team focused to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner
  • Ability to work from verbal and written instructions; must have excellent organization skills
  • Track record of positive attendance
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workload
  • Possesses computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
