Description

Astronics Custom Control Concepts (Astronics CCC) designs, engineers, manufactures and certifies reliable digital in-flight entertainment and cabin management systems (IFE/CMS) for the corporate, private and VIP aircraft industry. Our custom digital applications have been installed and commissioned on a wide range of VIP/VVIP narrowbody and widebody platforms in addition to numerous private and utility jet, turboprop, and helicopter models.

Astronics CCC is a world leader in designing and integrating custom digital IFE/CMS systems. Our product line covers every facet of in-flight entertainment and cabin management control including: entertainment, lighting, call, temperature, audio/video on demand, tablet integration, real-time 3-D moving map, and much more. We also offer customized graphical user interfaces accessible on our touchscreens, allowing seamless and intuitive control of the IFE/CMS system.

The Customer Systems Applications Engineer will be the primary technical interface with the customer and will translate customer requirements to the cross-functional engineering teams, and perform system integration testing.

Responsibilites:

  • Be the main technical point of contact on a customer program
  • Translate customer requirements for internal use through development of Control Block Diagrams (CBDs), Switch Block Diagrams (SBDs), System Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) and compile a requirements document needed to implement the system
  • Primary owner of System Integration Lab (SIL) for customer programs
  • Work with all cross-functional engineering teams to ensure customer system requirements are understood and implementable
  • Provide engineering bid package including technical assumptions and risk assessments for in work, new system proposals and sustaining project modification activities
  • Act as ACCC system subject matter expert for supporting Cabin Commissioning
  • Define and capture use cases for third party interfaces

 
Position Requirements

Eduction:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering degree required

 

Experience:

  • Must have 3 - 5 years’ experience with aircraft complex system integration, preferably with Cabin CMS/IFE Systems
  • Strong knowledge of the following is a desired:

    • Aircraft Cabin CMS/IFE Systems, VVIP or Business Jet systems preferred
    • Aircraft system installation and wiring design interpretation
    • System Integration Testing
    • System Requirements Definition Methodology
