Concrete Construction Forman

Description

The Concrete Construction Forman's primary role is to direct and lead the daily concrete construction activities using blueprints, project specifications, and schedules. Ensures that all materials and equipment required are communicated to the Superintendent to ensure no delays or work interruptions are created from a lack thereof. The Foreman is responsible for ensuring that their crews follow all safety procedures and policies.

Duties and Resposablites

  • Coordinate tasks and schedules for crew members
  • Supervise workers throughout the shift, ensuring safety, appropriate work stoppages, and organization
  • Resolve problems with projects, materials, and workers as they arise
  • Assist crew with the place and finishing of concrete paving and slabs
  • Maintains and ensures direct reports and on-site craft meet all OSHA safety standards
  • Continuously communicates and supports Superintendent in all day-to-day operations and construction activities
  • Execute and confirms the Pre-Pour Checklist (PPC) for all phases of scope
  • Manage material and equipment inventories to ensure there are no delays
  • Coordinate assigned work with different crafts (e.g., survey, rebar, subs, and suppliers)
  • Assist in resolving construction problems (e.g., lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.
  • Assist with project pursuits in evaluating structural concrete & site concrete scope(s), assessing appropriate manpower, formwork system(s), and work sequencing.
  • Hold weekly safety meetings with crew
  • Other daily supportive tasks as needed
 
Position Requirements

Skills Required

  • Must have overall field knowledge of concrete construction, including but not limited to reading and understanding blueprints, project specifications, soil reports, schedules, structural and site civil concrete construction.
  • Proven experience as a construction foreman
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively

Knowledge & Education

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of work experience as a Concrete Foreman, Construction Foreman, or a related field
