MedData has an exciting career opportunity available as a Support Services Specialist in their Louisville, KY medical billing service center.

The schedule for this full-time role is 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

JOB SUMMARY:


A Support Services Specialist handles a variety of duties relating to the process/fulfillment of documentation for both internal and external clients, while ensuring that accuracy is met in a timely manner. Some of the Support Services duties include chart management, batching and scanning correspondence, work flow management, credit card processing, collections handling, claim management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Responsible for the daily prioritization and planning of workflow for the records imaging area for multiple clients. Collates and scan patient charts, data entry of patient demographics in MedData’s software system. Match ED Registration logs with patient records to ensure all charts were received (if applicable). Works with Client Services and Coding to obtain missing chart records or components from client’s records department and/or I.T., as needed.

 2. Processes incoming mail or electronic-based correspondence (via Fax Server, email, etc.), while ensuring the accuracy and timely processing of documentation received. Handling of live checks and ensuring all checks received are submitted to the correct lockbox. Scanning of all correspondence received in a timely manner to the appropriate destination for further action to be taken.

 3. Ensures that outbound claims and patient statements are printed, processed and distributed in a timely manner, including identifying key elements of patient account information contained in the companies billing system (GPMS) and performing Quality Control measures on all outbound documents after receiving them from A/R.

 4. Completes all work within the appropriate allotted time to ensure compliance with office standards.

 5. Fulfill the minimum number of Workflow Items (all priorities, all categories) per week in accordance with the productivity levels assigned by the Company and Support Services Supervisor.

 6. Support internal and external company partners by performing support functions such as sending and receiving packages, scanning or retrieving medical records, explanations of benefits; sorting, batching and indexing new documents and other assigned tasks as needed.

 7. Communicates with both internal and external parties with issues or concerns as necessary in a

professional manner.

 8. Plans and executes software version upgrade releases and custom interfaces.

 9. Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Must pass the mandatory compliance training class.
• Previous medical, insurance or legal office experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and make timely decisions is a must.
• Ability to interpret instructions and complete projects using established guiding principles.
• Ability to interact with tact and diplomacy with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Ability to work as a group in a team atmosphere.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated PC skills, i.e. proficient with MS Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook and Windows as well as proficiency maneuvering network locations and utilizing web-based communication and other gateway software.
• Elevated comfort level using Internet-based applications and tools, as well toggling between multiple software applications on a daily basis.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
• Strong attention to detail is required.
