What You Would Be Doing
The Director of Legal Transactions provides legal support to Boundless (IAB) and affiliated companies.  Drafts, reviews, and revises corporate documents, governance policies and procedures, agreements, contracts, letters of intent, purchase agreements, leases, subpoenas, and other corporate legal documents. Assists with responses to litigation (including mediations and arbitrations), reviews, and revises pre-disciplinary conference reports and other related documents and legal instruments. Drafts such other board governance documents and policies, affiliation agreements and service agreements, service contracts with school districts and other public and private entities, may assist with labor negotiations, researches all manner of legal issues for the affiliated corporations, drafts policies and procedures and maintains accurate time records relative to work performed.  Performs legal and other duties as necessary, required, and assigned. Works significant weekly hours as needed to complete assignments and advise company clients. This position carries a director-level designation and is part of the corporate Leadership team. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours and telecommuting is required in order to complete work assignments and responsibilities to Boundless clients. This is not a position that has assigned start and stop times each day. The demands of the work dictate the hours required for work. Work demands routinely exceed forty (40) hours per week, but this position has a great deal of autonomy to determine the hours necessary to complete the work, provided that supervisor approval has been obtained.

 
Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience 

  • Juris Doctor. 
  • Three or more years of experience as a practicing attorney in one or more of the core practice areas necessary for this position. 

Preferred Education and Experience 

  • Experience in the field of developmental disabilities, behavioral health, and other healthcare disciplines. 
  • Legal experience in transactional law, labor and employment law, health law, corporate law, Medicaid/Medicare and other health care financing, trial practice, and administrative law. 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications 

  • Licensed attorney in the State of Ohio.
