Description

Assist with the overall implementation and operation of the agency's centralized records system. Responsible for Level II quality assurance record reviews, reviewing files for quality of content Log and respond to all requests for information from outside sources. Maintain safety and security of active and inactive records, both paper and electronic. Responsible for mailing, filing, and/or faxing information. Management of staffing process to ensure individuals records are assigned and entered into the agency's centralized records system within established time frames. Responsible for scanning information in individual records as assigned by immediate supervisor. Assist with yearly purging of inactive service records and with other agency records in compliance with the Library of Virginia schedule for purging records. Comply with established practices to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures of the Cumberland Mountain Community Services Board and with the rules and regulations of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Code of Virginia. Comply with established practices to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including, but not limited to, HIPAA and 42-CFR. Comply with all policies and procedures that relate to the overall operation of the Cumberland Mountain Community Services Board. Comply with established Quality Assurance policies and procedures. Protect confidentiality of individuals' records by ensuring that appropriate releases are obtained before releasing information and that measures are taken to protect confidentiality.

 
Position Requirements

Bachelors Degree in a human services field and experience working within a clinical record. QMHP is necessary in order to conduct Level II reviews. Experience in records management or quality assurance responsibilities is also preferred. Excellent computer skills required. Effective written and oral communication skills necessary. Willingness to be a team member. Ability to obtain and hold a commission as a Notary Public in Virginia. Willingness and ability to travel and use personal transportation in work capacity. Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed.

About the Organization CMCSB was formed in 1972 as a Chapter 10 Community Services Board under Virginia law. CMCSB provides mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse treatment services to the residents of Buchanan, Russell, and Tazewell Counties. At the present time, CMCSB operates over twenty locations, to include outpatient offices, mental health recovery programs, group homes and day support programs for intellectually disabled individuals, and a residential alcohol and drug treatment program. In addition, CMCSB has several services that are provided directly in an individual's home or in a supported environment. CMCSB also provides a 24-hour crisis team to assist community agencies and individuals in crisis situations. CMCSB employs approximately 500 employees, which include full-time and part-time employees, as well as individuals receiving services who are employed to work in various day programs.
