Description

CMCSB is seeking a positive, treatment focused individual to participate in service provision to include crisis response, behavior/symptom management, clinical treatment, and/or case management provision depending upon the needs of the children's program. Provide clinical/crisis/case management services to high risk individuals as to ensure treatment needs are met in the continuum of care. These services include but are not limited to aiding in assessment of needs with the youth and family, assisting with crisis intervention and providing crisis stabilization, planning treatment and developing Individualized Service Plans with children and families, providing direct services, individual, group and or family intervention both in office and in home, evaluating need for suicide precautions, aiding in development of safety plans, completing required same day documentation, and assisting the triage team, etc.. Ability to work within a clinical team is required as staff may be asked to provide support for other programs within the Children's Services Division.

 
Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a human services field and one year of direct clinical experience with children/adolescents required (must meet QMHP-C guidelines). Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively intervene in a crisis situation in order to de-escalate the situation. Effective written and oral communication skills and good time management skills. Ability to build rapport with school system and community partners. Good computer skills in order to document in the electronic health record.

About the Organization CMCSB was formed in 1972 as a Chapter 10 Community Services Board under Virginia law. CMCSB provides mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse treatment services to the residents of Buchanan, Russell, and Tazewell Counties. At the present time, CMCSB operates over twenty locations, to include outpatient offices, mental health recovery programs, group homes and day support programs for intellectually disabled individuals, and a residential alcohol and drug treatment program. In addition, CMCSB has several services that are provided directly in an individual's home or in a supported environment. CMCSB also provides a 24-hour crisis team to assist community agencies and individuals in crisis situations. CMCSB employs approximately 500 employees, which include full-time and part-time employees, as well as individuals receiving services who are employed to work in various day programs.
