The Intellectual Property Supervisor supervises the text agreement team to work with managers, supervisors, and administrators in the preparation, presentation, and procurement of intellectual property rights agreements and data analysis covering the usage of all FCBH resources at the licenser level. Communication with national and international ministries is an integral and vital part of this position. This person is responsible to manage intellectual property rights, a corporate database (LPTS), draft and steward agreements through the approval process, represent organization at meetings; lead the text agreement team, prepare and maintain administrative procedural documents, and when necessary, assist managers and administrators with projects and meetings. This role will also lead the Global Partnerships (GP) hospitality team.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Train and lead team to prepare and steward, through the approval process, the intellectual property rights agreements for Scripture recordings, texts and films.
  2. Prepare, maintain and negotiate intellectual property agreement templates for the text agreement team
  3. Train and lead team to initiate new intellectual property agreements and the renewal of existing agreements, including electronically on the UBS Digital Bible Library platform
  4. Lead the text agreement team meetings
  5. Lead the text agreement team in supporting ELT and Area Directors around Vision 2033 (V2033) deadlines
  6. Grow the text agreement team in collaboration with GP Operations Manager and HR to support the need for V2033, while maximizing each specialist’s production output with clearly defined standards
  7. Provide regular and ongoing feedback to each specialist to ensure that gaps are filled, training is adequate, goals are clearly understood and attainable
  8. Provide a system for follow-up for each specialist, if they do not have an effective way of keeping track of agreements in process
  9. Think critically to identify priorities, anticipate needs, and respond to nuanced requests
  10. Provide regular reporting to VP team and GP Operations Manager based on partner translation statistics with FCBH recordings, so that GP can effectively strategize for V2033
  11. Shall be the resident expert and main contact related to Progress.Bible data
  12. Facilitate licensing and negotiations for major licensors and key translations
  13. Represent organization at domestic and international meetings, conferences, workshops related to intellectual property, agreements and information systems
  14. Represent organization in intellectual property agreement discussions with copyright/text holders, ensuring that the FCBH decision makers for those agreements are kept informed
  15. Ensure organizational compliance to legal agreements through accurate entry and maintenance in the LPTS and by providing accurate and thorough answers to compliance inquiries
  16. Solicit and receive electronic Scripture texts
  17. A stakeholder for the LPTS Database as it relates to licensing needs.
  18. Facilitate LPTS database information input, queries, monthly release verification, quarterly follow-ups to Global partnerships, annual statistics reports, analysis of partner data, and compare to LPTS data
  19. Maintain, prepare and manage administrative procedural documents
  20. Communicate with managers/administrators, ministry partners and guests
  21. Coordinate with GP hospitality staff to schedule and arrange meetings, hospitality and transportation for guests of Global Partnerships as needed
  22. Administrate all office related duties under the supervision of GP Operations Manager
  23. Review and approve all timecards
  24. Review and approve all time off
  25. Organize and keep all SOP documentation related to: How to determine pay increases for staff; Reminding the team of our guiding principles and weighing new initiatives based on said principles
  26. Organize and facilitate all GP onboarding including introductions to other FCBH teams, introduction to GP SOPs and systems, introduction to GP framework, etc.
  27. Shall regularly look into all GP activities and remain up to date on new devices and digital technologies to see if activities fall in line with partner agreements and compliance.
  28. Work with GP Operations Manager to ensure communication regarding project sensitivity is appropriately managed across internal systems and external reports.
  29. Review and approve all Annual and Quarterly Partner reports for compliance and accuracy.
Position Requirements


  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  2. Experience and skills for understanding and interacting cross culturally
  3. Intermediate skills with Microsoft Windows and Office (Word, Access, Excel, Outlook)
  4. Critical thinking ability for analyzing and drafting intellectual, property agreements
  5. Intermediate understanding of drafting and stewarding agreements and procedural documents
  6. Team player, vision and mission focused
  7. Learning attitude, servant heart and flexibility


  1. Paralegal certificate or equivalent thereof - 2 to 3 years’ experience in intellectual property rights
  2. Spanish, French or other language proficiency a plus*
