Marketing Associate  

Description

Assists with developing and implementing of the City's internal and external marketing strategy. Serves as graphic designer and works in partnership with the City's various departments in order to ensure consistency and effectiveness of messaging, both internally and externally.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of marketing tools for all City of Thomasville and CNS services.
  • Responsible for developing marketing collateral as required, to include advertisements, presentations, brochures, etc.
  • Collaborates with various City departments to create visual marketing material for print, web and TV media in order to enhance the City's image and communicate City issues, actions and services.
  • Serves as webmaster for Thomasville.org, CNS-Internet.com, and Rose.Net and ensures both are updated to reflect timely and accurate information.
  • Functions as webmaster in updating Syrupcity.net, Camillaga.net, Pelhamga.org, and Bacontonga.net. Communicates information to the Moultriega.net IT staff when relevant CNS information needs to be posted to Moultriega.net.
  • Serves as backup webmaster for Thomasvillega.com and ensures that accurate and updated information is posted as directed.
  • Responsible for contributing to the online social media presence for the City of Thomasville and CNS services.
  • Provides technical media support during City Council meetings and workshops.
  • Provide support to various city events and functions.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing or related field and minimum of three years of experience in media relations. Associate’s degree and six years of experience may also be acceptable.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Effective communication skills including excellent listening skills and the ability to communicate professionally with staff and users both verbally and in writing.
  • Thorough understanding of all City services, departments and initiatives.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and as a self-starter. Ability to adapt quickly to internal/external change.
 
Physical/Environmental Requirements Mobility to work in typical office settings using standard office equipment is required. In addition, vision to read printed materials and computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
