EHS Technologies Corporation currently has a need for a Scientist/Engineer - Mechanical Properties Analysis (Part-time) at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NSWC-IHD), Maryland.
Description:
Provide engineering support and services in the area of mechanical properties testing of energetic materials and data analysis. Work is located at Naval Surface Warfare Center - Indian Head. Situational telework may be authorized. Most of the job will require on-site presence at NSWC-IHD.
Specific duties include providing: Technical expertise in helping to design appropriate test programs to meet engineering goals; Engineering support in preparing test plans, writing test reports, and conducting testing in accordance with approved SOPs and procedures; Technical expertise in analyzing mechanical properties test data; Technical expertise in developing aging predictive models for composite propellant motors.
Required Qualifications:
At least 20 years' experience in mechanical properties testing of energetic materials. Specific knowledge of rocket motor propellant testing and analysis is preferred.
Engineering knowledge of how to write test procedures, test plans, and test reports.
Technical expertise in analyzing mechanical properties data.
Engineering knowledge in how to conduct accelerated aging programs on rocket motor propellant in order to determine kinetic aging parameters for use in predictive aging models.
Knowledge in how to develop appropriate mechanical properties test programs to meet engineering goals.
Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in Physics, Chemistry, or Materials Science from an accredited college or university is required.
The candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
The candidate must be willing to submit to random drug testing.
