Salary Range: $14.00 per hour 

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, 11:30 am - 5:30 pm (30 hours a week)

What You Will be Doing:
We want people to join our team who share our values of love, excellence, respect, empowerment, and well-being. The ideal candidate will be safely transporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities between schools, work, and/or other activities. You will follow preplanned routes to & from their destinations following strict time schedules and ensures the vehicles are in good working order before & after use. Following safety rules regarding all passengers, traffic procedures, and vehicle inspections. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Report any vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs to the Transportation Coordinator immediately.
  • Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.
  • Ensure everyone has exited the vehicle.
  • Read maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
  • Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort.
  • Keep vehicle interiors clean for passengers.
  • Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures.
  • Make minor repairs to vehicles.
  • Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, etc.
 
Position Requirements

Minimum Education/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience transporting or driving large vehicles.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR - adult, child, and infant; delegated nursing. (training will be provided, if not already certified), Defensive Driving training
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles--no more than five points on your driving record
  • Proof of auto insurance
  • Required to pass a DOT medical examination

Preferred Education/Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience transporting or driving large vehicles.
  • Experience working in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.
