Description

*This is a temporary position dependent upon funding. 

JOB PURPOSE: Ensure the services provided to Veterans are timely, complete, documented, and carried out according to related contracts and policies & procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in development and implementation of contract compliance system to review delivery of services to veterans. Ensure services are delivered in accordance to related contract and policies. Provide Policy and Contract training and support to all SSVF locations. Auditing of Veteran files to ensure compliance with SSVF Program. Manage electric file system as needed from other SSVF locations.
  • On a weekly basis print all Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA) spent for the week prior. Organize all transactions accordingly. Accurately enter TFA into the internal data base (SAGE). Meet all accounting deadlines for submission in a timely and accurate manner. Run data quality reports and assist Financial Assistance Associates on reporting. Cross referencing VA TFA limitations within electronic file system.
  • Provide TFA support to all SSVF locations
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Support team, Financial Assistance Coordinators, Financial Assistance Associates, and Program Managers for all SSVF locations.
  • Maintain detailed records of TFA spending support for the Accounting Department.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with SSVF Operations Support Manager. Analysis trends and compile training and policy recommendations to address negative trends.
  • Ensure competence is maintained in the financial/data field as well as the quality assurance duties through webinars, formal training, and conferences.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service, in everything you do, by placing the child, family, Veteran or client first to support our mission to “Empower people to build better lives for themselves, their families and their communities.”
 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred. or job experience in accounting or 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, administrative support, office management, quality assurance, compliance or any other similar types of experience.

EXPERIENCE: 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, administrative support, office management, quality assurance, compliance or any other similar types of experience. 2 years of experience in a heavy customer service focused environment. Experience with HMIS or SAGE a plus. Experience in a social service environment a plus. Experience in working with spreadsheets and organizing high level reports required.

ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.

 

EXCEPTIONS TO THESE CRITERIA MUST BE APPROVED BY THE DEPARTMENT HEAD.

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

COMMUNICATION: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral or written means. Ability to present a friendly and positive demeanor to veterans, staff, and stakeholders. Ability to show understanding for a veteran’s financial situation while ensuring program policies are followed.

COMPOSURE: Ability to remain calm and maintain self-control in the midst of difficult circumstances and emergencies. Ability to respond in a professional manner in all situations.

COMPUTER: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word and Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of HMIS a plus. Proficient typing skills preferred; accuracy required.
