We are currently seeking ambitious, entry-level chemical, mechanical, civil, electrical, and environmental engineers for full-time work in Symbiont’s fast paced yet informal work environment. December 2021 and May 2022 graduates are currently being considered for multiple positions.
Candidates must have a B.S. degree in engineering. Prior internships, particularly in consulting, are preferred but not required.
The ideal candidates will have strong academic credentials, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent personal and academic references. Work assignments may include the following depending on your major:
- Chemical/Mechanical: alternatives review, sizing, layout, and specification of equipment and systems associated with industrial processes and water/wastewater systems, design of pumping and piping systems, evaluations and selection of process equipment, commissioning of start-up services, occasional field work to document existing facilities, construction cost estimating, equipment procurement, and construction-related engineering assignments.
- Civil/Environmental: design tasks (alternatives evaluation, sizing, layout, equipment specifications) and studies associated with industrial and municipal wastewater treatment systems, potable water systems, municipal sewer collection system design and modeling, civil site design, as well as commissioning and construction management services.
- Electrical-power: design, sizing, layout and specification of electrical power, distribution and control systems including utility connections, motor control centers, stand-by power systems, power distribution, lighting, VFDs, construction cost estimating and coordination studies, fieldwork to coordinate design with existing facilities and to support construction and system commissioning.
- Electrical-controls: programming and commissioning programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interfaces (HMIs) utilizing a variety of automation software packages, control panel design, PLC/HMI programming, instrumentation set-up, construction supervision and field commissioning.
Symbiont offers a competitive salary and benefits. Work hours will generally be 8am – 5pm, Monday through Friday, though occasionally, earlier, or later hours may be required. Symbiont is a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Top Workplace and a Future 50 firm.
