Position Summary:

As a Massage Therapist at Edgewood Tahoe, you offer extensive experience in a range of massage techniques involving hands and fingers to relieve pain in muscles, soft tissues, and other parts of the body. As a massage therapist, you are inspiring guest relaxation, rejuvenation, and unmistakable inner balance. Essential Functions:

  • Consults with guests before massage to identify and evaluate areas requiring therapeutic treatment. Assess their expectations, and asks questions related to pain or discomfort and to learn and/or update their medical histories as necessary and appropriate to the scope of treatment.
  • Performs requested or suggested massage techniques, that may include deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, hot stone therapy, prenatal massage, and/or sports massage.
  • Occasionally communicates with the patient throughout the massage to ensure comfort with pressure levels and techniques being applied.
  • Provides a relaxing environment for clients.
  • Demonstrates and educates clients on methods to soothe and strengthen targeted muscles and tissues at home; may provide reference materials such as printed diagrams and materials or links to websites and videos for further guidance and instruction.
  • Establish a good rapport! Know our spa menu and promotions.
  • Maintain product knowledge.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the facility. Checklists and SOPs will guide you.
  • Coordinate with staff and management on VIP's, special requests, group arrivals, etc.
  • Work with management to improve the guest experience. From guest recovery to outstanding inquiry.
  • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications / Special Skills:

  • Must have valid Nevada Massage License.
  • Two years or more experience preferred as a Licensed Massage Therapist.
  • Experienced in customizing services to enhance clients’ spa experience, in accordance to the clients’ physical and medical needs.
  • Well-versed in talking with clients regarding symptoms, medical history, and preferred results.
  • Functional knowledge of executing professional boundaries with clients and maintaining confidential information.
  • Proactively offer guidance on posture development, stretching, strengthening, and general relaxation.
  • Demonstrate ability to assess clients to find imbalances, painful or tense areas of the body.
  • Address inappropriate guest behavior as per the hotels standard operating procedures for Inappropriate conduct for guests and therapists.
  • The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly effective professional. Previous experience in hospitality would be preferred and commitment to delivering a high level of customer service. Proven experience in a luxury spa environment is advantageous. Proficiency in English. Excellent communication skills. Polite and confident with a great deal of patience. Ability in multitasking and time management. Aptitude in resolving issues with customer-focused orientation.
  • Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
