POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Technician will perform various inspection and quality verification activities for incoming product and for new models as required. These activities can range from visual inspection to measurement data collection for critical characteristics.

This position will work with and communicate to all various functions including quality, engineering, purchasing, distribution, and suppliers as required. Performs quality control checks on company products to ensure the product meets required safety and quality standards.

CORE FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Issue each day the latest revision of In-Process Check Sheet to areas producing OEM and Aftermarket programs. Every 2-hour monitoring of process, document results into MiniTab and maintain runs charting. Report trends, shifts and jumps in process to Quality Assurance Management.

Administer Data and Document Control responsibilities in compliance with ISO/IATF standards.

Perform process layered, product and/or dispatch audits – document and report results.

Perform MSA studies, recall and calibration on instruments used to ensure product quality per MSA and recall and calibration schedule.

Participate in creation of PPAP packages – specifically dimensional layouts, IMDS inputs, quarantine management and in-coming inspection (if applicable).

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Example: Bachelor’s degree required; 6-8 years of related experience and/or training required.

  • Associate degree in related field, or 3-5 years in a quality or manufacturing related position is preferred
  • Two years of IATF experience -preferred

Required Licenses

Example: CDL is required.

  • Valid driver’s license and clear DMV record

Computer Skills

Example: Skilled in Microsoft Office, knowledge of database software, order processing systems, manufacturing software, spreadsheets, quality, and word processing.

  • Skilled in general PC operation/navigation and application-specific experience including SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365 applications (MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
  • MiniTab and AIAG documents.

Language Skills

Example: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to complaints. Ability to effectively present information to top management. Write, speak and comprehend English.

GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of force greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

VISUAL ACUITY

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
