Our client is seeking to hire a Senior Marine Electrical Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. Upon award, you will:

  • Design electrical and electronic systems for US Navy, Military Sealift Command, USCG, and commercial ships.
  • Projects include new ship designs and modernizations to existing ships.
  • Systems include power generation and distribution, electric propulsion and power electronics, centralized machinery monitoring and control, lighting systems, interior communication systems, alarm systems, and navigation systems.
  • Work includes ship inspections for modernization of existing systems.
  • Perform analyses and studies, and develop reports, drawings, and specifications to reflect design results.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering  or Marine Engineering (Electrical) from an accredited institution. 
  • 10 years of progressive experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 18 years in lieu of the degree in one of the following marine fields:
    • electric propulsion systems
    • machinery control systems
    • power generation and distribution systems
    • interior communications systems.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in electrical systems design and analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software and AutoCAD.
  • U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
  • Experience in marine electrical systems design and analysis preferred.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Navy, USCG, ABS, and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations preferred.

 

This position is contingent upon and subject to the award of the contract from the government. You will be hired on a contingency basis.

 

Some TCG customers require individuals providing support to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. COVID-19 vaccination status may affect employment opportunities.

  • Proficiency in SKM Power*Tools or ESA EasyPower software preferred.
