Our client is seeking to hire a Senior Marine Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. Upon award, you will:

  • Design fluid systems for US Navy, Military Sealift Command, USCG, and commercial ships.
  • Design foundations for mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Contribute to projects that include new ship designs and modernizations to existing ships. Systems include seawater, potable water, fuel, lube oil, compressed air, fire extinguishing, HVAC, and chilled water systems. 
  • Perform ship inspections for modernization of existing systems.
  • Perform analyses and studies, and develop reports, drawings, and specifications to reflect design results.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 10 years of relevant experience or HS Diploma plus eighteen (18) years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient experience in one of the following marine fields:
    • Piping and Pressure Vessels; Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
    • Hydraulics and Weight Handling Equipment;
    • Propulsion Systems; Auxiliary Systems
    • Ship Support Systems.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Navy, USCG, ABS, and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to interact and present technical information verbally and in writing (reports, specifications, drawings, etc.) to internal and external customers.
  • U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

 

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
  • Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) preferred.
  • Proficiency in FEMAP/NASTRAN or PIPE-FLO software preferred.

 

This position is contingent upon and subject to the award of the contract from the government. You will be hired on a contingency basis.

 

Some TCG customers require individuals providing support to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. COVID-19 vaccination status may affect employment opportunities.
