We are seeking a Project Team (PT) Scheduler to join our client's team in Norfolk, VA. In this challenging role you will:

  • Coordinate all government required actions needed to support system restoration and testing are completed and accurately reflected in LMA’s Integrated Production Schedule (IPS).
  • Evaluate and correlate data from a variety of scheduling applications, Navy Maintenance Data base (NMD), tools and reports to identify Critical and Controlling Path work item and testing related risks.
  • Validate technical sequences and ensure test procedures are linked to the appropriate key events and milestones
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager and Chief Test Engineer (CTE) organization, will ensure timely adjudication of schedule related procedure questions, test procedure integration (where warranted) to avoid work/test delays, are completed.
  • Respond to major changes in schedules by assisting in the restructuring of the test program or schedule to meet new objects or critical path requirements.
  • Provide recommendations to the Project Teams, Ships Force and Lead Maintenance Activity needed for the preparation of the Integrated Production Schedule (IPS).
  • Employ knowledge of schedule and risk related practices, the incumbent will be the primary SME assigned to design, implement and report on the Integrated Production Schedule (IPS) related risk for the Availabilities Assigned. This will involve creating procures and tracking of identified schedule related risks, providing PT recommendations and mitigation strategies to control offset identified risks.
  • Maintain Microsoft Access databases of historical Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) submissions.
  • Analyze weekly and monthly maintenance availability schedules, manpower plans, and productivity data.
  • Assist in the development and integration of NAVSEA Standard Item 009-60 schedule submissions with the Commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Center’s (CNRMC’s) Port Workload Charts.
  • Assist in the characterization and assessment of private shipyard workforce capacities.
  • Assist in the development of a scheduling “Community of Practice” to standardize and document scheduling best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist CNRMC in standing up an organic schedule assessment capability.
  • Perform workload, capacity, and scheduling assessments in support of acquisition strategy development.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, briefings, and project plans to describe activities planned and accomplished.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of directly related experience in a Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA), or shipyard environment.
  • Familiarity with ship construction or maintenance and modernization processes.
  • Knowledge of shipyard production trades, processes, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with shipyard workload and capacity projections.
  • Knowledge NAVSEA Standard Item 009-60, which requires Master Shipyard Repair (MSR) companies to provide production schedules and associated reports
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in using scheduling software (e.g., Open Plan, Project, Primavera).
  • An active Secret security clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Preferred Requirements:

  • OSHA-10 Training
  • VSRA (Virginia Ship Repair Association) Training
