Sports Medicine & Spine Rehabilitation is looking for an experienced, Physical Therapist to join the team. Here at Sports Medicine & Spine Rehabilitation we offer patients the best care in physical therapy, pain management, sports medicine & non-operative spine, and orthopedic care. We pride ourselves on making sure the patient is as comfortable as possible while recovering from injuries or accidents. The first and most important procedure we perform is listening to the patient. We take the time to conduct a detailed medical history and by listening to the patient explain where it hurts, when and how, we gain important insights. We pair that with a physical examination to further pinpoint and confirm a proper diagnosis. Occasionally, we conduct other diagnostic procedures, such as Electromyography to identify specific muscles or nerve groups that may be involved. But everything begins with this first and most important step of listening carefully to what the patient has to say. The services we offer include: Musculoskeletal Resources including lumbar & cervical spine conditions, providing non-surgical pain treatments & physical therapy rehabilitation

Position Requirements

Both recent grads and experienced PT's are encouraged to apply. Immediate availability.

 

  • Provide quality care to patients by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determine physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
  • Help patient accomplish treatment plan and accept therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises
  • Instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities, as well as using assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches and canes.
  • Administer physical therapy treatments by giving massages, initiating traction, electrical muscle stimulation, moist hot packs, ice, and ultrasound; direct treatments given by aides and assistants.
  • Evaluate the effects of physical therapy treatments by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommend adjustments and modifications.
  • Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs.
  • Document patient care services by charting patient notes in E.H.R. system and/or written charts.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Experience working in an outpatient musculo-skeletal practice preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients
  • NYS WCB Authorization Number
 
Education and Training A valid New York and physical therapy license and registration
