RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assure that all manifests are received, reviewed and then posted into the inventory by 8 o’clock cut off time frame. This is completed by using the information from either the manifests or pre-receipts captured in the system. Once completed, review the receipts for accuracy with an inventory receipts listing, report any discrepancies from the shipment and fill all open back orders.

File claims with carrier on any material damaged in shipment. In specific instances, this could also be done with certain vendors.

Receive all stock transfers from branches into Baltimore inventory. Act as support for the other Haines branches in regards to this function.

Enter all manifests for inventory that is purchased for warehouse into pre-receipts prior to receipt. Follow documented process, so items are in the system for the Receiving team to use as their receiving document to receive goods and scan barcodes on products and documents using IWMS system. Accurate freight rates would be captured during this process.

Cross train with all members of Inventory Control team to ensure that when there are absences due to illness or vacations, the team can function at normal service levels. This will also enable growth within the department.

Communicate all issues with multiple teams within the organization. Customer Service will be notified if there are issues that will not allow the open back orders to be filled. Operation will need to contacted when issues with manifests or information that is captured on. At times, this position will also work with Marketing on issues related to samples and /or displays as well as freight costs.

Act as a backup for Invoice Verifier within group. Must have a complete understanding of all products and vendors. As well as, the issues related to freight and fuel surcharges. By doing this task, this ensures that the invoices from the vendors match the purchase orders and what costs are in our system. Once completed, invoices are approved and sent to A/P for payment.

Monitor and track all inbound freight rates by vendor. Update the freight spread sheet to help identify issues related to either overstating or understating freight rates in our system. Periodically report findings to the Marketing Managers.

Assist with all special projects assigned to this team.

REQUIREMENTS:

Strong attention to details.

Product and/or industry knowledge would be a plus.

Communications, both written and oral must be clear and concise.

Computer skills a must. (Excel, Word, Dancik, and internal databases)

Action Oriented.

Most tasks are individually accomplished but, team work at times.

Problem solving skills.

Basic math skills are a must. Knowing how to convert units is measure is essential.

Accuracy in data entry and in the verification process.

Strong teamwork skills.

Shift flexibility.

Position Requirements

MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operation, set-up, inspection, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation. And/or operate mobile equipment in congested areas or involving considerable variety of movement.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to ascend and descend stairs and traverse small spaces, remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, move about to access materials and equipment to perform job duties, operate basic tools, communicate with customers and co-workers, and perform repetitive motions.

Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
