Valley Community Services Board has a part-time (20 hour/week) employment opportunity for a Youth Support Partner (YSP) to serve youth, adolescents, and their families in the Staunton, Augusta and Waynesboro areas. The YSP must be between the ages of 18 and 26 years old and have lived experience with their own mental health or behavioral needs. The YSP, after training and orientation, will provide support, education, advocacy, coaching, information, referrals and follow-up to youth, adolescents, and their families seeking assistance. The YSP will work closely with the Intensive Care Coordinator (ICC) and follow the High Fidelity Wraparound model.   Position Requirements   Personal, lived experience as a youth, adolescent or young adult who has/had mental health and/or behavioral needs is required. Must be between the ages of 18 and 26 years old Prior experience assisting other families to obtain appropriate services and supports for their child and family members is desirable. Willingness and strong ability to build and maintain partnerships with agencies and providers. Active listening skills for providing non-judgmental peer support and engagement to families. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong computer skills and the ability to efficiently utilize internet search to identify resources. Ability or willingness to learn how to use the electronic health record. Current Virginia driver's license and access to own vehicle; in-state travel required. Successful completion of a background check (required for all VCSB employees). *Benefits Package includes 9 paid holidays and generous paid time off package.
