About the Organization Established June 15, 1971, Valley Community Services Board is a publicly funded organization where citizens of Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta and Highland Counties can receive Behavioral Health, Substance Use and Developmental Services services. Valley Community Services Board serves as the single point of entry into publicly funded mental health, developmental, and substance use disorder services for these localities.

Description

This employee, supervised by the Forensic Discharge Planning Coordinator will be responsible for adults experiencing serious mental illness located at MRRJ and all aspects of needs assessment and re-entry upon release linkage and service linkage.  This position will function as part of a broad, diverse, and integrated multi-disciplinary team, including Courts, Jails, Hospitals, CSB and community partners.  This position will complete risk assessments, provide discharge planning services and continued case management services both in the jail and community to the individuals with SMI discharging from MRRJ. 

 
Position Requirements

Requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of bachelor’s degree in Human Services Field (does not require QMHP). Position requires a thorough knowledge of community systems, ability to work independently, be creative and outcome focused. Valid VA driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
