Description

SUMMARY

Under minimal supervision, responsible for all aspects of the shipping and receiving of all products to and from Grand Rapids Chair Company.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsibilities will include quoting freight and scheduling outbound shipments as well as supporting the Receiving Department.
  • Plans and coordinates incoming shipments.
  • Enters tracking notifications to customers via UTS tools and databases.
  • Responsible for export compliance including NAFTA certificates and document preparation.
  • Receives incoming shipments of merchandise or other materials; verifies correctness of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, etc.
  • Routes goods to the proper departments.
  • Creates electronic packing list and bill of lading to support Grand Rapids Chair Company’s receiving process.
  • Forwards records to initiate accounting procedures.
  • Provides material handling functions.
  • Works safely and follows all safety rules and regulations.
  • Keeps area neat, clean and organized according to company standards.
  • Provides back up support to Material Handlers during peak production season and absences.
  • Maintain a clean work area following the Leader Stand Work responsibilities for your work area.
  • Able to be flexible with work schedule when customer demands require it. 
    • Hours are typically ~7am-3:30pm or until last truck departure.
 
Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Valid driver’s license for attainment of company forklift license.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
