Our History

eMDs was founded in 1996 by David Winn, MD, a board-certified family practice physician with a very strong business background who understood the value of having an integrated practice management system which helped physicians focus on patients while optimizing practice financials. Dr. Winn was dissatisfied with offerings on the market, and set out to create his own. The eMDs clinic was first implemented in 1998. Using our own practice management system meant we fully understood what it takes to create the perfect EHR system and why the company built our reputation upon being a highly usable system.

Many years later, we've retained the same values from our early days. We are dedicated to building the best integrated EHR and RCM systems and services. We focus on listening to our customers. And most importantly, we focus on making the practice of medicine enjoyable and fulfilling.

Summary of Job: The role of the Account Executive complements and is a component of the eMDs core service line of ARIA Health Services by providing value-added business management and advisory services to customers and associated key stake-holders along with driving and monitoring the AR management performance. In addition, they are responsible for post-sale contact with customers to maximize customer engagement/retention and assist customers in the use of eMDs products and/or services by increasing market share. The Account Executive works closely with the Sales team and the Business Partner Success Manager to understand technical and business challenges and opportunities of the customer.
The overall success of this role is dependent on the relationships with key leaders across their customer organizations and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction for all eMDS products and services.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as the key contact and responsible party for a group of customers consistent with the Account Executives individual level of experience and expertise
• Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with multiple levels of the customer organization including providers and C-Suite leadership
• Conduct regular customer meetings as defined by leadership to establish mutual goals and accounts receivable targets, review accounts receivable performance, payor issues and trends, the customer's business strategies, and physician revenue projections/expectations
• Actively promote a collaborative relationship with operational staff to facilitate the most effective, efficient delivery of services to the customer and to expedite resolution of customer issues.
• Ensure coordination of resources by identifying support services needed by customers from other areas of eMDs, including practice management, sales, information technology, accounting, administration, compliance, consulting services. Works with management in each of these areas to ensure delivery of services needed
• Ensure that appropriate operations staff meets regularly to build additional relationships, demonstrate the depth of team support, and as necessary, to review performance to assist in identifying and resolving customer concerns
• Manage, monitor, and drive improvements in AR key indicators and the revenue cycle by identifying value proposition of other value-added services
• Ensure that eMDs and customer goals are separately understood, tracked and monitored
• Perform and/or facilitate periodic billing audits for assigned customers to ensure that utility files, billing parameters, electronic transmissions, demographic interface tapes, billing and payment tapes, and insurance verification interfaces are utilized appropriately and as expected.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through the delivery of all contracted receivables management services to customers.
• Establish, track and report on key indicators of performance to ensure that customer revenue is maximized.
• As appropriate, establish and ensure implementation of an action plan for problem resolution. Maintain appropriate contact with customers, provides reporting and analysis as required and coordinates the delivery of other value-added services
• Inform/educate staff and customers on compliance-related issues and document all compliance- related customer meetings
• Provide support to EMDs coding staff and feedback to customers addressing coding and dictation concerns.
• Provide random audit sampling and discuss results with staff and customer
• Develop communications, trainings and documentation to support customer and internal change management activities
• Develop and deliver customer performance presentations and facilitate meetings and workshops
• Establish effective partnerships with the sales development team for their specialty/region and participate in the planning and execution of the strategy for seeking new business.
• Partner with finance to address AR issues
• Provide support to revenue growth by generating qualified ARIA sales leads, arranging informational meetings and contacts, and providing education related to the physician market place.
• Stay knowledgeable of EMDs services and products. Actively educate customers about other EMDs value-added services and products. Actively explore needs of customers and identify potential need for additional EMDs business solutions and/or consulting services. Refer new business to appropriate sales director and management leadership. Success is measured by growth in customer's revenues through additional services.
• Enhance organizational growth by procuring customer referral for service expansion within the customer, affiliated and non-affiliated partners
• Maintain healthcare industry technical and regulatory knowledge and establish procedures to ensure compliance
• Participate in and complete in eMDs Compliance training and other required training, particularly related to current caseload specialty issues.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 4 years of experience with provider collection and billing practices, computer systems, basic financial and statistical analysis
• Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated ability to retain customers and grow a book of business
• Effective problem-solving, interpersonal and negotiation skills required.
• Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills required. Employees are required to speak, read and write English
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage confidential information.
• Working knowledge of employment law and practices.
• Must be able to effectively work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple work assignment simultaneously.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Detailed understanding of clinical, financial, and business operations and systems and the impact on revenue cycle performance
• Knowledge of Managed Care Contracts
• Prior revenue cycle consulting and/or operational management experience
• Highly self-motivated and focused
• Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities
• Ability to work in a cooperative team-oriented matrix environment and manage through influence
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
• Diplomacy, tact, and poise under pressure. Ability to engage senior-level executives and establish credibility.
