Your role in helping us shape the future:

U.S. News is looking for a Project Manager to provide project leadership and support to one or more cross-functional product development teams. This highly collaborative position involves working closely with Product Owners, Engineering, Editorial and other stakeholders across the company to create realistic project plans and track their progress. Your work will range from managing complex, transformational projects, to leading process improvements, to facilitating the day-to-day work of your teams.

As a project manager, you will:

  • Keep projects moving forward on a day to day basis by leading standups, flagging risks, removing impediments and streamlining communication among stakeholders

  • Help teams achieve their full potential by recommending ways of working that increase quality and efficiency

  • Work with product, content and engineering to create realistic project plans and product roadmaps

  • Provide clear, concise status updates to project stakeholders

  • Help teams analyze multiple approaches to problems and arrive at solutions that meet user and business goals

 
Position Requirements

You should definitely

  • 2+ years of experience working as a project manager in a software development environment Understand the agile software development lifecycle and be able to recommend appropriate processes based on team composition and goals

  • Be able to adapt project management and productivity tools such as Jira, G-Suite and Slack to help teams collaborate and communicate effectively

  • Have excellent communication skills and be comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all levels of the company

  • Be able to build solid working relationships with team members with different personality types, areas of expertise and skill sets

  • Be able to analyze problems and opportunities, come up with potential solutions, and present the pros and cons to project stakeholders

  • Be comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree

It would be nice if you

  • Certified Scrum Master or Agile Certified Practitioner

  • Worked in a digital media company
