Assistant Site Superintendent for New Construction - Multi-Family (Vaughn Bay Construction)

Started in 1991 as a family owned residential builder in the greater Tacoma, Washington area, Vaughn Bay Construction has grown into a leading provider of both light commercial and affordable multi-family construction

Vaughn Bay Construction is looking for an Assistant Superintendent to help manage sub-contractors and site safety for a variety of Multi-Family construction projects.

Essential Duties:

  • Assists in execution of approved scope by managing subcontractors to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Observe and ensure job site safety.
  • Document and submit material orders and subcontract change orders for approval, under the direction of the Superintendent.
  • Produce detailed Daily Reports.
  • Learns to create scope and budget for projects to ensure that each property is constructed and ready for CO as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. Learns to read, review, produce, maintain, and as-built Contract Documents. Learns to create manage quality control review and punch list process.

Position Requirements

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn codes, municipal by-laws, inspections, estimating and planning
  • Background in multi-family, residential, or commercial construction or equivalent is a must
  • General knowledge of plumbing, electrical and HVAC preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to analyze and maintain workflow
  • Bilingual verbal and written is a plus

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree or certificate in Construction Management is a plus
  • Construction: 2 years in a leadership role
  • Multi-Family construction experience is a plus
