We collaborate with healthcare providers around the world to provide medical devices that exceed customers' expectations and provide solutions for today's needs and tomorrow's growth.   Location KY - Louisville   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Shift First   Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt   Description JOB SUMMARY: Shop Operators are a unique team that work on Re-usable products, and support key functions of the forceps/pin lines such as masking, coating, Hi-pot testing, trimming and other shop functions, to support production. In this role an operator can develop their skills and move to different levels of responsibility. As a Operator II - Shop you will perform all duties of the role with minimal supervision and with minimal to no rework or spoiled product. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Machine set-up, operation, and inspection according to detailed verbal and written instructions as described by working instructions of a medical device. Accurately record and complete relevant documentation, production forms, logs, and work orders. Follow work orders to assemble and shape products within specifications. Ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner, and with the quality needed to deliver a good product to next work operation. Ensure equipment is operating by following operating instructions, trouble shooting breakdowns and working with Maintenance lead to correct problems. Inspect for detail and mechanical defects and re-work. Safely use hand tools in light assembly processes. Safely operate machinery for grinding, cutting, drilling, sandblasting, heat guns, ovens, and welder. Have flexibility to move to other positions in the department as work flow changes. Follow Lean manufacturing processes. Use computer and/or scan gun to collect or retrieve information to fulfill a task. Ensure all required PPE is being used on each operation. Clean work area daily and keep work area organized. Perform additional tasks as required.   Position Requirements EDUCATION: High School or equivalency EXPERIENCE: More than six months in this or similar role. Medical instruments or manufacturing experience a plus. SPECIAL SKILLS: Technical skills like blueprint reading, benchwork assembly, polishing, trimming a plus PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANTS: Stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
