Description

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for hourly work to fulfill Providence Houses sub-contract with Georgian Court Universitys Campus Grant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work on the Georgian Court University (GCU) Campus (or virtually as needed to comply with physical distancing recommendations) a maximum of 15 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate depending on the need for direct services on campus.
  • Work with GCU Campus Grant program staff to develop and facilitate trainings for GCU students and faculty.
  • Network with other providers to generate community resources for participants.

PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide trainings & speaking engagements to GCU classes.
  • Develop and strengthen victim services programs and population specific services on the GCU campus.
  • Work with GCU staff to fulfill the goals developed by the GCU Coordinated Community Response (CCR).
  • Participate in GCU-headed trainings facilitated as part of the OVW Campus grant.
  • Attend trainings required for training staff by the OVW.
  • If necessary, meet with or refer students to appropriate staff at PHDVS to provide counseling & advocacy services.
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, child development, criminal justice or education. Related work experience preferred.  40-hour domestic violence training required.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED:  Valid driver’s license

MANDATED PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:  Providence House Domestic Violence Services is a 24-hour residential crisis program, and as such requires staffing at all times. When accepting a position with this agency it is important to know that the regular shift at the time of hiring is subject to change during the course of your employment, and that at times of staff emergencies or special events you may be required to fill shifts other than (instead of) your regular shift.
