Job Title: Aviation Customer Service/Data Entry
Department: Front Counter
Reports To: Front Counter Manager

Essential Functions:

  • Answer phones and transfer calls appropriately.
  • Utilize MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint software, and internet searches.
  • Process transactions over AVPOS for the purchase of pilot supplies, Bemidji Aviation apparel, flight instruction, plane rentals, and fuel.
  • Plan travel for flight crews.
  • Assist with aircraft scheduling.
  • Update Hobbs times and locations of all Bemidji Aviation aircraft in the plane swap.
  • Update UPS freight airplanes and their designated pilots for the upcoming night and following morning in the plane swap.
  • Communicate instructions and information to pilots landing at Bemidji Regional Airport over Unicom and Company frequency.
  • Communicate with line staff regarding incoming planes, fuel orders, deicing, and other services needed.
  • Enter data in the appropriate databases (ex: fuel, rentals, flight instruction, etc.)
  • Provide courtesy cars for short term use of visiting pilots.
  • Update daily flight logs.
  • Meet and fulfill the needs of the traveling public in a positive manner.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment (take out the trash, clean/refill coffee pots, fill vending machines, water plants, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements
  • Strong background in computer systems and data entry
  • Customer service experience
  • Proper phone etiquette

Schedule:

This is a long term, part-time position that includes Saturdays and Sundays with the flexibility to cover other shifts as needed. The ideal candidate would have an interest in aviation. Employees are eligible for discounted flight training.

Competencies and Knowledge: The successful candidate should have demonstrated skills in the following: approachability; time and performance management; strong organizational skills; problem-solving; communication skills (verbal and written, especially with customers); ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment; ability to interact with all levels of company personnel, vendors and outside regulatory agencies; professional aptitude; ability to manage multiple projects at one time with time-sensitive deadlines and adaptability in an aggressive growth environment.

Work Environment: This job operates approximately 95% of the time inside a climate-controlled building and approximately 5% of the time outside in all types of weather. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; bend/stoop; occasionally push/pull and lift weight up to 45 lbs.; use hands to grasp, finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. On rare occasions may be required to crawl, use fine manipulations, kneeling, and repetitive motion.
