Payroll Generalist 

Description

PURPOSE

This position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing, and disbursement of payroll and payroll related liabilities.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs timely and accurate disbursing of payroll, payroll related withholdings, payroll related taxes and reimbursements.
  • Assists team members with questions regarding pay and creating positive experiences for them in the process.
  • Contributes in the development or alteration of current company processes, manual or automated, to make the department more efficient and effective.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and proper processing of exempt and non-exempt employee payroll, stock transactions, and other non-cash transactions as well as executive compensation programs.
  • Assists with Payroll Tax Filings and Payments.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.
  • Able to promote a culture of trust and safety.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years payroll experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Transportation industry experience

SUPERVISES OTHERS

This position does not supervise others.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:

  • to sit, stand, stoop, kneel and occasionally move up to 20 pounds,
  • manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard on a daily basis,
  • stamina to sit for extended periods of time, lift or carry printed materials, and
  • possess vision sufficient to read a monitor, printed text and hand written documents,
  • be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
