Your role in helping us shape the future:

We’re looking for an experienced QA Lead to oversee a range of quality activities across U.S. News teams, including manual exploratory testing, regression testing and test automation.

Are you up to the challenge?

As QA Lead, you will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments (development, product, BI, advertising) to understand business requirements and recommend appropriate testing strategies
  • Oversee and implement test plans for new features and rankings launches
  • Manage offshore QA engineers to ensure effective and efficient testing, providing guidance, support and performance feedback as needed
  • Champion the use of tools and processes that improve test coverage and efficiency
 
Position Requirements

You should definitely have

  • Extensive hands-on experience with both manual and automated of testing software applications
  • Experience defining holistic test strategies for complex applications and feature sets
  • The ability to design and implement organization-wide testing processes that streamline communication and reduce overhead
  • Proven team leadership experience, including experience managing off-shore team members
  • Experience creating and maintaining automated tests using Selenium or a similar testing framework
  • The ability to use project and test management tools to communicate test results and make sure projects stay on schedule
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn

It would be nice if you had:

  • Know how to use git, Jenkins and a coding language like Python, JavaScript or Java.
  • Have previous experience working at a digital media company
  • Have experience testing large data sets
