Description

SUMMARY

Supervises and maintains the Company's Fleet, tools, tool supply chain and inventory. This position ensures all warehouse and tool department functions are aligned with Company goals and objectives, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervises Company fleet and tool inventory and supply chain, including deliveries, transportation, inventory control, tool and equipment rentals and tool repairs.
  • Collaborates with project managers, foremen, office and field employees, customers, sub-contractors and vendors to ensure the appropriate tools are in supply, deployed properly and functioning well at all times, and that related spending remains within budget.
  • Establishes which tools to purchase in order to ensure that tools deployed out to the field are of high quality.
  • Attends project startup meetings and determines which branch the requested office tools and equipment should be deployed from for each project.
  • Coordinates problem-solving discussions and actions to address day-to-day issues with tools and equipment.
  • Provides regular communications, mentoring and training other co-workers as needed. Coaches employees and provides performance feedback regularly.
  • Audits tool inventories in multiple sites.
  • Maintains confidentiality of pricing information and negotiation related to tools, equipment and project details.
  • Implements LEAN concepts and methodologies for continuous improvement of operations processes. Educates others on LEAN approaches.
  • Maintains compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Stays informed of new materials, technologies, techniques and practices.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies relevant to the industry.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Follows all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the Company.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Relevant experience in business supply chain management, building construction or a related field. Minimum 5-7 years of electrical background in purchasing and tool operations or warehouse operations with a concentration in large commercial construction projects or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds or higher, using proper protective equipment, machinery or assistance when lifting as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The job will consist of occasional job site inspections. Proper safety attire must be worn/ i.e. work boots, hardhat, etc. Work environment would be open to in climate weather conditions.
