As the Assistant Branch Manager, you'll assist the branch manager in managing and directing all activities of the branch to meet organizational, financial, operational, service and growth plans. The assistant manager is also responsible for maintaining a cohesive, highly motivated, well-trained branch staff. The Assistant Branch Manager will also focus on the following:

  • To assist the branch manager in managing and directing all activities of the branch to meet organizational, financial, operational, service and growth plans. The assistant manager is also responsible for maintaining a cohesive, highly motivated, well-trained branch staff.
  • Maintains a cohesive, highly motivated, well-trained branch staff. Interviews and makes new hire recommendations to the branch manager. Manages employee performance to include coaching, training, conducting regular employee observations, provides effective feedback, assists staff with developing action plans to meet branch and credit union goals, conducts performance reviews, and initiates corrective action and/or terminations when necessary.
  • Monitors branch operations and activities to identify opportunities for enhancement of policies, process, procedures, products and pricing. Provides recommendations to branch manager for review.
  • Schedules and allocates resources for adequate branch coverage by coordinating employee and branch management work schedules with vacations, training, Saturday time off, and approved leaves of absence to ensure optimum service to our members.
  • Assists the branch manager to ensure that the branch is operating in compliance with credit union regulations, policies and procedures. Ensures branch compliance with all safety, emergency preparedness procedures and physical security to include dual control and cash drawer audits. Reports to branch manager unsatisfactory conditions or violations.
  • Serves as Branch Manager in their absence.
  • Assists staff or members in researching and solving complex account problems in a timely manner with appropriate follow-up.
  • Represents the branch and/or participates in credit union, community and select employee group functions as appropriate.
  • Performs receptionist, financial specialist duties on an as needed basis, filling in for peak schedules or for an absence or shortage in the branch.
  • Prepares monthly branch reports and completes projects and assignments assigned by the branch manager within timelines. Attends scheduled meetings and trainings.

Compensation: $52,457 - $74,057

 
Position Requirements

Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

Education/Certifications/Licenses: A high school degree or equivalent

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

Other Skills: Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. PC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the Internet. Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills. Must possess a service orientation and be willing to sell products and services. Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously in an effective manner. Ability to function in a financial institution branch environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: fax, copier, telephone, etc. Requires intermediate mathematical skills (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.)

Bondability Eligibility of employment at Blue Federal Credit Union is contingent upon successful bondability.
