Applications Support Analyst II 

Description

PURPOSE

Perform intermediate level professional technical work in application support analysis and application problem resolution. Incumbent participates in the analysis of software application problems, the development of solutions, testing and researching software solutions, as well as other tasks required to configure and maintain the system and support end user reporting.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provide support for core 3rd party applications

Perform mentoring and training of other application support team members

Manage/lead medium projects

Collaborate with others in the analysis of systems, development of enhancements, and repair of incidents

Update and enhance application documentation and knowledge base articles as required

Perform periodic examination and evaluation of applications to improve effectiveness

Provide technical support to users and analyze issues related to software applications

Provide end user training with regard to system best practices

Provide timely communication to users on the status of their service requests and incidents

Ensure problem resolution methods are applied to address root cause, improve service levels, and reduce costs

Work closely with application vendor providers to ensure timely resolution of all 3rd party software related issues

Monitor the availability and performance of supported software applications

Participate in disaster recovery activities as required

Act as a liaison between vendors and end user

Adhere to Company and Departmental policies and procedures

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems field of study from an accredited college or university or comparable on the job experience

3+ years of application support and reporting experience

Intermediate level knowledge of application development tools i.e. MS Visual Studio, MS SQL Server Management Studio, etc.

Intermediate level knowledge of various in-house developed and third party applications supported by USA Truck, Inc.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of application support analysis, research techniques, methods, and procedures

Ability to conduct tests, analyze test results, detect programming and configuration errors, and take proper corrective actions

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with end users, methods

Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience

Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results

Working conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required to:

Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time

Frequently operate a computer for extended periods of time and regularly operate other office machines

Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and move up to 20 pounds of office objects

Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and other employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions

Occasionally attend meetings in buildings outside corporate office and at off-site locations with various internal conditions, and requiring travel in various external conditions

Domestic travel as necessary
