Title / Position: Digital Marketing Coordinator

Position type: Year-round, Full-time; Hourly, Non-exempt.

Reports to: Assistant Marketing Director

Summary: The Digital Marketing Coordinator is collaborative, likes working on multiple projects, and is a strong written and verbal communicator. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about skiing and snowboarding, and able to ski or snowboard at an advanced level.

The primary objective for this position is to support the development and execution of the marketing plan. Other responsibilities include special events, digital and social media management, and copy writing/editing. This person is the primary caretaker of bromley.com and winter seasonal snow reporting. Requires weekend and holiday work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing & Media Planning

  • Work with the Assistant Director and Ad Agency on a continual basis to develop and refine marketing and media plans.
  • Provide creative input on newsprint, billboards, radio, web, brochures, etc.
  • Work with Ad Agency or Assistant Director to plan and execute photo shoots for summer and winter print and digital collateral.

Digital

  • Oversee bromley.com. This includes:
    • Seasonal banner, imagery and copy updates to keep both the homepage and internal pages fresh and accurate.
    • Frequent site review, ensuring all pages and functionality of site are in working order and accurate; primary support contact to Website Developer.
    • Create and manage pages for other departments.
    • Work with Assistant Director to plan any changes to the website.
    • Work closely with Website Developer to manage new projects, ensuring deadlines are met and projects are completed to our satisfaction.
    • Responsible for reviewing invoices from Website Developer, and ensuring budget is controlled.
  • Create and manage internal resort Promos on Base Lodge monitors.
  • Social Media.
    • Develop Content plan with Assistant Director.
    • Manage content flow:
      • Summer: Maintain and update content on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram, etc., on a regular basis (daily relevant posts, photo or video).
      • Winter: Work with Content Producer (primary day to day contact for CP) to publish stories, daily posts and event overviews to social channels.
    • Work with Assistant Director in planning new social media campaigns.
    • Work with Assistant Director to stay up to date on social trends.
  • E-Mail Marketing
    • Work with Assistant Director to develop the Communication Plan.
    • Use Email Service Provider to create custom e-mails to include weekly newsletter, snow reports, specials & deals, snow alerts, etc.
    • Work with Database and Customer Relationship Management Company to implement transactional e-mail campaigns for both winter and summer.
    • Ensure all links in email are built for Google Analytics tracking.
  • Video Production
    • Produce, or work with staff (paid or volunteer) throughout the winter and summer season to produce video content for social channels and bromley.com.
    • Amount of seasonal content to be agreed upon with Director.
  • Updating external Sites
    • VSAA, Manchester Chamber, VAA, Trip Advisor, etc. to make ensure details and events are up to date both summer and winter.
    • Work with 3rd party signage partners (ex. Sitour, Sherman Networks) to ensure marketing signage is current and in working order.

Database Management

  • Work with Assistant Director & Database and Customer Relationship Management Company to ensure that our customer database is organized and growing according to the Marketing Plan.

Events

  • Work with the Assistant Director to create the Events Calendar for both summer and winter seasons within the established budget.
  • Ensure each event at Bromley runs smoothly. Operational duties may occur depending on the nature of the event. The Winter Events Coordinator and Summer Guest Satisfaction & Events Coordinator will report to the Marketing Coordinator for operational needs while executing the planned events calendar.
  • Submit new ideas for events that align with the Bromley brand.

Snow Reporting

  • Responsible for winter snow reporting. This includes:
    • Training seasonal snow reporting staff
    • Maintaining snow reporting schedule for marketing department staff.
    • Maintaining quality, accurate and on-time reports on Bromley.com, Snocountry, Mountain News, Bromley’s phone system, Snocountry Fax system and internal reports.

Administration

  • Make sure that the press is taken care of, whether they have interview requests, lodging, lift tickets or meeting with staff members.
  • Miscellaneous printing projects (T-shirts, stickers, trail maps, etc.)
  • Perform other tasks & projects as requested by the Assistant Director as assigned, i.e., follow-up phone calls, responding to correspondence, analyzing and preparing information or review on designated projects, stocking base lodge and other internal sources with collateral (brochures/trail maps).
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant Marketing or Life experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Experience in Photoshop or equivalent helpful and design experience is a plus.
  • Experience in print, collateral materials, media relations helpful.
  • Ability to switch-task effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Requires excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to work across multiple departments effectively.
  • Up-to-date knowledge in digital technology.
  • Able to work effectively independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays during the winter season.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Once content plans and events calendars have been set, the Winter Events Coordinator and Snow Reporter/Content Producer report first to the Digital Marketing Coordinator (to the Assistant Marketing Director only if needed) to ensure accuracy, quality of production and adherence to Brand.

Work Environment:

This job operates primarily in a professional office environment, but does spend time outdoors, especially during the winter season on and off snow/icy surfaces. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, mail machines, and fax machines. However, considerable work outdoors (any time of year) is likely throughout the base of operations.

Physical Demands:

This is largely a sedentary role working indoors using computers and phones for extended periods; however, some movement and work around the entire resort is necessary.
