Position Summary:

Easterseals UCP is seeking a fundraising generalist who is passionate about cause marketing to join our team. The official position title of either Fundraising Manager or Director is dependent upon level of experience in raising funds and the ability to independently drive our fundraising efforts. Regardless of title, this position has plenty of room for growth and sits at the intersection of our fundraising and marketing teams. This position reports to the Marketing Director along with direct collaboration with the Chief Marketing Officer. The ideal candidate has demonstratable experience in successfully managing fundraising activities including marketing campaigns, grant writing and managing a donor database. The ideal individual also has the ability to work effectively and independently to see projects through from beginning to end. Having a 'can do' infectious team spirit and outgoing personality aligns well with our agency's culture.

Specific activities include:

  • Developing goals and sound plans for raising funds that support the mission of our agency
  • Writing grant proposals
  • Developing strategies and fundraising campaigns that align and promote the mission of our agency
  • Managing, organizing and optimizing our donor database utilizing Blackbaud Raiser's Edge
  • Identifying and exploring new donor pools and innovative approaches to fundraising
  • Creating, planning and managing outreach efforts (i.e., direct mail campaigns, social media campaigns, etc.)
  • Collaborating with the Marketing team and internal Program teams for storytelling
  • Collaborating with our Chief Marketing Officer including frequent updates and success-sharing

Essential Job Functions:

  • Able to collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and implement compelling fundraising campaigns, ranging from direct mail to crowdfunding
  • Knowledge of digital fundraising platforms and best practices
  • Manage, organize and optimize the donor database in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge
  • Conducts grant searches, grant writing and grant reporting activities
  • Analyzes fundraising campaigns, creates compelling reports and makes strategic recommendations based on metric-based outcomes
  • Initiates creative ideas that promote ESUCP's mission
  • Able to work with internal and sometimes external teams to promote our mission
  • Able to represent Easterseals UCP in a professional and outgoing manner
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with donors
  • Other activities and responsibilities as needed
 
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • College degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Business is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a fundraising or grant writing role; candidates will be required to provide examples of successful campaigns and/or grants won.
  • Deep understanding of crowdfunding and digital fundraising strategies
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, assignments and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Familiarity with managing donor databases (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge preferred) and project management systems is essential
  • Solid editing and researching skills
  • Demonstrated team player
  • Interest in developing new skills, learning new platforms and programs
  • Proactive and takes initiative
  • Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills
  • Winning attitude, willing and able to "jump right in" when needed
  • Current, unrestricted, state-appropriate driver’s license and current personal vehicle insurance
  • Ability to travel and occasionally work evening and weekends as needed
