OUR MISSION: To help everyone achieve their personal best by providing the finest aquatic educational, competitive, therapeutic and recreational programs.   Description This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Swim Lessons in the overall organization and administration of the Swim Lessons Department. It is also responsible for creating and maintaining good customer relations and member retention with our patrons and for maintaining a safe environment for participants in our swim lesson programs. Purpose of Job: To maintain and develop all aspects of existing swim lesson programs Manage an effective enrollment process Key focus on providing excellent customer service Assist in achieving financial targets Ensure that both the environment and instruction is safe and follows current curriculum   Position Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Active presence during the majority of swim lessons - Act as a primary point of contact for parents, guardians, and staff with regards to swim lesson inquiries, comments, and complaints - Assist in proactively marketing and expanding swim lesson programs - Assist in setting up swim times for the various sessions throughout the year - Assist in managing and administering all processes relating to re-enrollment - Complete knowledge of swim lesson programs and curriculum - Leading set up on the pool deck - Keeping track of instructors scheduled - Taking role for classes - Track and organize lesson participant records for each session - Fill in as an instructor when/if needed - Assist in conducting regular in-service trainings and staff meetings - Assist in collecting/creating instructor and customer service schedules - Assist in evaluating instructors regularly and providing constructive feedback - Ensure that all policies and systems are understood and upheld - Complete additional duties as assigned by the Director of Swim Lessons or Executive Director - Understand the importance of aquatic instruction and promote a life-long love of the water Qualifications: - Outstanding customer service skills - Strong organization skills - Competent computer and audio-visual skills - Ability to interact with diverse groups of people through a variety of situations - High level of emotional maturity - Positive attitude - Strong communication skills - An ability to lead others - Punctuality - Ability to use independent judgment when needed - Strong problem solving skills - Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule that includes early mornings, late evenings, and weekends Required Training/Certifications: - Recommended but not required: American Red Cross CPR and First Aid, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Education/Experience: - Must have high school diploma or equivalent - Must have at least one year in a customer service role FLSA Status: This classification is non-exempt from FLSA requirements. Anticipated Hourly rate: Pay: $16.00 Reports to: Director of Swim Lessons / Director of Development Hours: The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center operates a year round swim lesson program. This is a part time position, working an average of 23-25 hours per week. Leave or vacation will be approved by the Director of Swim Lessons and will be at times which best reflect the demands of the Swim Lesson Department. Confidentiality: If hired, you must not make any unauthorized disclosure of information concerning patrons, staff, or the facility. You must not utilize customer records for any purpose other than that directly relating to your duties.
