Under the general supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager and/or Practice Manager, Radiology Technologist/Occupational Medicine Technician performs diagnostic radiology, laboratory procedures, phlebotomy and related procedures under the philosophy, policies and procedures established by the clinic and the hospital, as well as provide clerical and secretarial duties as necessary to maintain the efficient, productive operation of the diagnostic radiology, occ med, and laboratory areas.
Assists the Physician/Nurse Practitioner in performing office examinations. Administers prescribed medications and simple treatments as directed by the Physician/Nurse Practitioner. All duties are performed under the direction of the Physician/Nurse Practitioner. Performs some clerical functions related to front office responsibilities. Performs duties as instructed by the Physician/Nurse Practitioner or management that are in guidelines of individual office.
Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level in the clinic radiology area according to the direction of the Director of Medical Imaging. Sets up diagnostic procedures as requested by primary care provider. Maintains quality assurance data as required. Performs related work as assigned.
Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiological technology. Continuing education hours as required by state agencies in order to maintain certification.
Must have current Indiana license and be A.R.R.T. Registered or be registry eligible. Must be current in CPR.
One year of physician office or hospital radiology experience, preferred.
Requires: operation of radiological equipment; knowledge of and adherence to radiations safety procedures in accordance with local, state and federal regulations; ability to perform laboratory procedures within scope of service; knowledge of and adherence to laboratory safety procedures in accordance with regulatory agencies; along with good communication and customer service skills. Working knowledge of OSHA, Infection Control, Compliance, Risk Management, Quality, Continuous Improvement and Safety. Electronic Medical Record, medical office software, word processing, outlook and excel. Knowledge of needs and behaviors of ages served. LEAN trained a plus.
