Job Overview
Responsible for the health and well-being of every therapy horse while maintaining the Willow Farm Barn facility. Share the functions of teachers and teaching faculty through collaboration with peers and supervisors to provide a positive learning and guidance techniques to students. Communicate and interact with peers and supervisors on academic progress. Maintain the programming / and educational needs of students at Steps Educational Group
Essential Accountabilities

Supervise students in his/her care at all times

Meet the individual needs of students by individualizing instruction and safety within the Barn environment

Ensure the safety of students by accompanying them across learning settings during the school day or school activities as assigned

Carry out all policies and procedures in a professional manner as outlined in STEPS policies and procedures manual

Attend professional in-services in areas related to job responsibilities

Ensure STEPS Educational Group confidentiality agreement for students is maintained

Teach and act in accordance with the objectives and policies of Steps Educational Group and or as directed by your supervisor

Product Development as it relates to farm products

Maintain integrity of STEPS Educational Group Model

Scheduling appointments for the farrier, vet, and chiropractor to the needs of the Barn facility.

Maintain Barn facility

This includes haltering, fly spraying all horses, turning each horse out to pasture, cleaning 20 stalls, dumping water buckets, watering, haying, sweeping, night feed prep, filling shaving, bedding stalls, operating Bobcat for manure removal, cleaning and filling troughs, cleaning arena

grooming, bathing, exercise horses this includes groundwork and riding, tending to injuries, desentizing horses, equipment maintenance (saddles, bridles, tack, helmets) barn maintenance (cleaning and organizing feed room, refilling feed and supplies for horses, organizing lockers) ordering supplies (grain, shavings, hay), heavy equipment maintenance, dragging pastures, grading pastures, setting up appointments for care of horses. Hay deliveries, checking on chickens, maintenance of bees, ect.

Work Environment
Position can require or involve some degree of physical interaction with students who have difficulty controlling physical behavior. Working Farm to include agricultural needs including care for animals.
Physical Demands
Must be able to use a variety of equipment for children with special needs. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment. Must occasionally lift, move and/or support up to 50 pounds (and/or up to adult size body weight with two-to-three person lift).
