Summary/Objective
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing overall human resources generalist support for the facility, which includes hiring, onboarding, staff development, maintaining personnel records/files, facilitating employee benefits enrollment, and providing guidance/support to WMHC leadership team re: employee performance management. The Human Resources Coordinator will also responsible for the Center’s quality improvement initiatives and committee.


Essential Functions

  • Performs routine human resource tasks including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance management, productivity, recognition, staff morale, occupational health & safety, and training/development.
  • Facilitating the hiring onboarding of all external and internal hires. This includes but is not limited to posting open positions, reviewing applications, facilitating interviews, making verbal/written offers, scheduling/facilitating orientations, and assembling/organizing personnel files.
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy- particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Conducts pre-employment background checks/employee eligibility verification and provides ongoing monitoring of work eligibility/licensing/et cetera for Center staff.
  • Coordinates on-the-job training for new and transferred employees.
  • Maintains compliance with federal/state/local employment laws, regulations, and recommended best practices- reviewing policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains and, in collaboration with the Administrative/Clinical Directors, annually reviews, updates, and redistributes- Center policies & procedures- including an Employee Handbook.
  • Leads QI Committee meetings to review and examine areas for Center improvement, completing QI summary reports on regular basis.
  • Acts as compliance officer regarding Center accreditation- ensuring compliance with state/federal guidelines- and acting as a liaison with accrediting agencies to prepare/submit materials as needed for routine audits.
  • Acts as safety officer regarding monitoring/tracking of Center incident reports, identifying trends, and working with the WMHC leadership team/QI committee to resolve safety concerns.
  • Facilitating and participating in meetings/committees for Center projects and initiatives.
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll in the absence of the Administrative Director, ensuring accurate and timely payment of Center staff.
  • Seeking out and assisting with the writing, submitting, and monitoring of grant opportunities.
  • Acting as a marketing liaison between the Center and outside advertising entities, participating in publicity interviews, development of marketing materials, and managing the Center’s social media presence.

Position Requirements

Required Education/Experience

  • HS Diploma Required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of human resource generalist experience required.
  • SHRM certification a plus!
  • Grant writing/management experience a plus!


Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, move about inside the office to access file cabinets/office machinery/et cetera, operate basic office equipment such as computers/calculators/copy machines/printers/scanners, communicate verbally/in writing, and lift up to 50lbs as needed.
