As an Avidyne DOD SkillBridge intern, you will be immersed into various departments within our organization. What You’ll Learn & Responsibilities of the Position:

As a Field Service Representative intern, your first month will center around learning about Avidyne, our manufacturing operations, and internal planning tools and resources. Subsequent months will expose you to the Avidyne family of products, as well as detailed training on their user interface, technical systems, as well as how to install and integrate components. In the final months of your internship, a full-time member of our Technical Support team will mentor you as you apply your knowledge as a Field Service Representative to our customers. In this capacity, you may be able to:

  • Answer customer and installer technical inquiries regarding Avidyne’s products
  • Arrange for repair o customer equipment to be returned to the factory
  • Act as liaison between customer and associates of other departments within Avidyne
  • Monitor, document, and report failure trends in Avidyne equipment.
Position Requirements


  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Superior customer-oriented attitude.
  • Broad knowledge of aircraft systems and avionics sub-systems.
  • Proficiency using personal computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to component level troubleshoot and repair various avionics systems.
  • Detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and works well with others.
  • Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems.

Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent military/trade school training or a minimum of 4 years’ experience performing a role substantially similar.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in avionics installation and troubleshooting.
  • Candidates with previous avionics experience in an aircraft maintenance facility and/or an aircraft manufacturing environment, a pilot’s license, and/or experience troubleshooting and installing Avidyne avionics systems are highly preferred.
