Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Financial Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant is responsible for cash accounting and general financial accounting activities related to Easter Seals UCP organization. The Staff Accountant has responsibility for overseeing daily banking and cash posting, reconciling balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, assisting with month end closing as well as special projects and other financial duties as needed.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor daily banking activity, review accounts receivable account coding
  • Reconcile the cash posting to the cash received on a daily basis
  • Maintain daily cash flow projections
  • A/R client account reconciliation and follow-up
  • Prepares and posts journal entries related to cash and misc. invoicing
  • Provides month-end general ledger account reconciliations
  • Provides month-end close support to financial reporting team
  • Assists in the annual audit preparation
  • Engages in continuous knowledge development of best practices, rules, regulations, and performance standards
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Financial Accounting Manager.

 

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA (or equivalent experience) in Accounting or related field from a USDOL or CHEA accredited institution
  • One year of accounting or related experience
  • Hands on experience with cash posting and general ledger functions
  • Documented experience in monthly closing of general ledger accounts
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly advanced Excel
  • Must ensure the ability to manage highly confidentiality information
  • Ability to manage large volume of detailed transactions, multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
