About the team:

Sciton is looking for a highly motivated Manager of Accounting to join our rapidly growing Finance/Accounting team. S/He will oversee General Ledger and revenue and review and approve the related journal entries and reconciliations.

We are looking for an experienced individual to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, be proactive in streamlining business processes, and support an efficient and compliant finance infrastructure while capable of scaling with a rapidly growing high-growth company.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are appropriately recorded, coordinating with other teams, reviewing, and preparing appropriate detailed journal entries and account analyses. Interact at all levels and with other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close.
  • Document the Company’s position on relevant accounting topics and ensuring all required technical topics are appropriately documented.
  • Enhance the level of technical accounting knowledge within the accounting, finance, and other teams on relevant accounting topics.
  • Present and resolve the Company’s positions for critical accounting issues with the external auditors.
  • Evaluate processes to automate processes for efficiencies, and support system implementation and enhancements.
  • Be a proactive liaison with external auditors to drive completion of audits.
 
Position Requirements

Essential requirements:

  • 7+ years’ experience in accounting and audit (must have management experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA is a requirement.
  • Public Accounting experience is preferred.
  • Manufacturing industry experience highly desirable
  • Experience with Infor CSI preferred
  • Ability to articulate complex accounting issues clearly, succinctly, and in plain English.
  • Demonstrated capacity for critical thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and ownership with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster customer service disposition and desire to build and cultivate strong relationships with team members.
  • Strong project management skills and able to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
