The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures furthers the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, initiatives, and collections. Welcoming visitors from Los Angeles and around the world, the Museum works in active partnership with motion picture artists and specialists, scholars, staff, and diverse communities to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema, inspiring discourse, connection, joy, and discovery.

Reporting to the Creative Director, you will provide support to the Creative team by managing the departmental calendar, monitoring current creative projects, coordinating vendors, and assuring a smooth workflow in the unit. You will also work to keep track of each phase and anticipate the needs of the office to ensure an efficient work environment.

You Will:

  • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor, and summarize progress of creative exhibition projects.
  • Work directly with clients and partners to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget.
  • Set expectations for design workflows with internal and external teams.
  • Interface with all levels of employees and support communication with external partners and the creative community.
  • Develop and communicate project timelines.
  • Monitor the project(s) progress to ensure project goals are being met, along with troubleshooting and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Traffic creative elements to appropriate teams for review, notes, and approvals. Report notes back to Creative partners and vendors.
  • Ensure internal approvals are secured as work moves through the creative development process (CD, AD/CW, PROD, Proofreading).
  • Coordinate material for the Creative team's presentations.
  • Book, manage, and coordinate department calendars and events.
  • Oversee, manage, and track department budget.
 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • A bachelor’s degree with demonstrated interest in film studies or visual arts such as photography, video production, digital media.
  • 2+ years of experience in a creative environment, preferably in a museum.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Air table and JIRA, is ideal.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience working with InDesign or Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Availability to work some nights, weekends, and other flexible hours.
