Seeking to hire a Full Time Mental Health Screener for PESP

Job summary

  • Conducting mental health evaluations and risk assessments for adults and youth to determine the appropriate clinical intervention under the NJ Screening Law
  • Answering 24-hour crisis hotline and telephonic triage
  • Supportive crisis intervention counseling, consultation, and referrals to community resources
  • Providing psycho-education and advocacy
  • Completing all legal and program documentation within agency/department guidelines
  • Successful completion of Screener Certification Basic Training
  • Required to work various schedules; comprised of day, evening, overnight and weekend hours.

Qualifications

  • MA degree in a Mental Health related field plus 1-year full-time employment in a mental health setting post degree OR
  • Bachelor's Degree with a major in Mental Health discipline and 3 + years full-time employment in a mental health setting post degree, 1 year of which must be in a crisis setting OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Mental Health related field and enrolled in a Master's program, plus 2 years full-time employment in a mental health setting, 1 year of which must be in a crisis setting
  • Must have the ability to handle crisis situations, in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under Agency's automobile insurance policy
